Awalé links Charger 1 and 2 across 300 metres of strike
Three stacked 200-plus gram-metre holes read as one high-grade breccia system — while the stock has fallen by nearly a quarter.
Awalé Resources drilled a line across its Charger gold zone in Côte d’Ivoire and reported holes it says now join two targets that used to be mapped separately. The best numbers: hole CHDD-62 cut 25 metres grading 8.71 grams of gold per tonne — rich rock, with a 3-metre slice running 36.51 g/t. Hole CHDD-52 cut 28 metres at 7.03 g/t, and CHDD-60 cut 49 metres at 4.65 g/t. The company says these and other holes trace one breccia-vein system — gold deposited in shattered, re-cemented rock — over about 300 metres of strike, with the reported intercepts sitting between roughly 119 and 212 metres downhole. This follows our last look at Awalé’s BBM deposit, a separate 100%-owned target where assays were still pending.
Here is why the gram-metres matter. Thickness times grade tells you an intercept has heft, not just a flashy number over a sliver. CHDD-62 scores 218, CHDD-60 scores 228, CHDD-52 scores 197 — three stacked 200-plus hits on a 20-metre step-out line. That is about as clean as step-out drilling gets. Charger 1 and Charger 2, previously modeled apart, now read as one continuous system, and grade holds up at depth with the zone open down-plunge. The company says the results point to resource growth on top of the existing 1.71-million-ounce gold-equivalent inferred estimate — inferred being the lowest-confidence category. CEO Andrew Chubb, an economic geologist whose team guided the Mkuju uranium project to a AUD1.02 billion takeover, leads the work; Newmont funds the JV ground. All of this lands while the stock has fallen 23.3% over three months, even as junior gold miners rose 2.1% and gold was essentially flat — company-specific weakness, not the sector.
Now the honest part. The 300-metre connection rests on the reported holes plus interpretation in the figures; results from 33 additional Charger holes are still pending. True widths are given as a blanket 70% of downhole length, not modeled hole by hole, so the up-to-34-metre true width is one ratio applied across the board, and the headline 25m, 28m and 49m are downhole lengths. The Qualified Person is Chubb himself, the CEO — not independent. On BBM, the 8 deep holes and 57 pit-conversion holes we flagged last time remain pending, and the Odienn é PEA once flagged for Q3 2026 has not been re-dated. Watch for the balance of Charger assays in coming weeks and Fremen diamond drilling in Q4.
