Blossom's best Rosebud hole yet lands as the stock keeps sliding

128 metres at 1.19 g/t in an unmined wedge between three old mined zones — roughly double the current resource grade. The share price fell anyway.

Blossom Gold drilled a hole at its Rosebud project in Pershing County, Nevada, and it is the company’s strongest intercept yet. Hole RC26-012 cut 128 metres grading 1.19 grams of gold per tonne — more than a gram of gold in every tonne of rock — including a richer 37.1-metre slug at 2.82 g/t. That interval sits 181.5 to 309.6 metres down the hole, roughly 157 to 268 metres below surface, in an unmined wedge of rock between three zones the old Newmont-Hecla joint venture mined out between 1997 and 2000. When we last covered Blossom in September, the holes were infill work fattening a known resource. This one is different.

Here is why the number carries weight. The 128-metre interval is a true thickness — Blossom dip-corrects its widths, which is unusual and a real strength — and it grades roughly double the project’s current 0.62 g/t resource grade. The 37.1-metre high-grade core was still in mineralization when the hole stopped, so the zone is open going down. Around that standout, a set of long, low-grade holes — 269.2 metres at 0.166 g/t near surface, 149.4 metres at 0.214 g/t from surface, 233.1 metres at 0.28 g/t — are individually unremarkable but exactly what an open-pit heap-leach model wants: broken rock you pile on a pad and trickle solution through to pull the gold out, adding tonnes and cutting the waste you have to move. On the two open items from last time: the Site M / Northwest and Kamma assays we flagged are still pending — this release cites Southwest and Northwest Zone core holes showing “encouraging signs” but reports no numbers — and the Q1 2027 resource update has not landed. Both remain open.

The caveats are the geologist’s, not ours. RC26-012’s 128 metres is a single hole; the release says the wedge fills in between mined zones but states no step-out distance or strike length, so continuity into the wedge is not yet demonstrated by other intercepts. Five assays in that hole were capped at 6.8 g/t, so the 2.82 g/t already reflects capping. The resource stays entirely Inferred until the Q1 2027 update. What to watch is stated: those Southwest and Northwest core assays, an 8,230-metre underground infill program the company expects to begin in December, and the resource update. One more fact the reader does the math on — over three months the stock fell 37.6% while gold held roughly flat and the junior gold index rose 10%, a gap of about 48 points the market is pricing on something company-specific.
