Getty steps out at Getty South and the zone holds together
A step-out hole cut 150.3m of 0.71% copper with a 46m core at 1.47% — and two more step-outs, north and south, both hit the same body.
Getty Copper drilled hole GS26-06 at its Getty South target in British Columbia’s Highland Valley and cut 150.3 metres grading 0.71% copper — meaning every hundred tonnes of that rock holds about seven-tenths of a tonne of copper. Inside that long run sits a richer 46-metre core at 1.47% copper, and inside that, a 7.5-metre slug at 3.72%. Two more step-out holes framed the find: GS26-05, drilled 25 metres to the south, hit 80 metres at 0.84%, and the pattern extends the mineralized breccia — a body of broken, cemented rock — that earlier drilling first flagged. The zone stays open along strike and at depth, meaning it hasn’t been drilled to its edges yet.
Why this registers: Highland Valley is home to Teck’s large copper mine, which runs a fraction of a percent copper. Getty is pulling grades several times that from a 40-to-60-metre-wide breccia. The two step-outs matter more than the headline metres — hitting the same zone north and south of the discovery hole is what separates a coherent target from one lucky intercept. The market has already noticed: the stock rose 27.5% over three months while copper itself slipped 1.5% and the copper-miner index (COPX) fell 5.8%, a move driven by company news rather than any sector tailwind. New CEO Ryan O’Regan, a geologist who ran technical services at a private BC coal producer, took the chair in March 2026; the drilling is overseen by VP Exploration Roy Greig, the company’s qualified person.
Now the honest part. The company says true widths — the real thickness of the zone — are only 30% to 60% of the drilled lengths, so that 150.3 metres may represent as little as roughly 45 metres of actual rock. Grades swing hole to hole: GS26-03 returned just 28.5 metres at 0.23%. Only four holes are reported, with seven more pending at Getty South and three at Getty North, and zone geometry still leans partly on old drilling with missing assays and uncertain hole locations. No cut-off grade was stated for the intervals, and there is no mineral resource — an estimate isn’t planned until 2027. Watch the pending assays as they land, plus permits for the 100%-owned Dot Property, expected soon.
