Goliath widens the Bonanza Zone at Surebet, and the market barely blinks

Three holes at the Golden Triangle project hit gold on the fringes and to the north — but most of 97 holes drilled are still waiting on assays.

Goliath Resources reported three fresh drill holes from its Surebet discovery in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle. The best, GD-26-431, cut 9.12 grams of gold-equivalent per tonne over 11.27 metres — call it a fat chunk of rock carrying good grade — plus a richer 13.89 g/t core over 7.14 metres. Two more holes, GD-26-442 and GD-26-426, landed grade in the northern step-outs, including a one-metre bonanza hit of 31.42 g/t. The company says the Bonanza Zone stays open for expansion. This continues the story we’ve followed at Surebet, where an August release reported holes up to 7.38 g/t over 35.7 metres.

Here’s the useful way to read it. Multiply grade by width and you get “gram-metres,” a rough measure of how much metal a hole punched through. GD-26-431’s best interval scores about 103 — solid, but well short of historic Surebet holes that topped 400 to 800. So these aren’t record-breakers. What matters is where they hit. GD-26-431 found grade on the western fringe, and GD-26-442 and GD-26-426 caught grade in the northern step-out, roughly 100 metres out and between about 520 and 589 metres below surface — meaning the mineralized patch is genuinely getting bigger, not just filling in. Note that GD-26-442 and GD-26-426 come from a single collar at Pad 15 — a fan of holes drilled from one spot, not a line traced along the deposit. And every headline number is gold-equivalent, blending in silver, lead and zinc credits; the pure-gold figure behind that 9.12 is 8.93 g/t. The stock rose 5.8% over three months while gold gained 3.7% — but the junior miner index ran up 14.7%, so Goliath rode the tide and lagged the pack.

Watch the assay pipeline: 97 holes have been drilled in the 2026 program and only a handful of results are out. The bigger expansion claims — 750 metres southwest, and further to the west, north and northeast — rest on holes whose numbers are still pending, so treat them as preliminary. Also unstated in this release: true width (steep 79–85° holes against gently-dipping veins mean core lengths may overstate real thickness) and cut-off grade. The release references a QA/QC protocol section (page 16 of the full release) whose details were not reproduced in the text available to the research squad. Deeper still, the company plans to test the “Motherlode” feeder source, timing not stated.
