White Gold thickens the core at Golden Saddle and pushes VG deeper
Two useful holes into known deposits — 5.13 g/t over 7.9m inside a wider band, and a 90m down-plunge extension at VG. 49 assays still pending.
White Gold Corp. put out drill results on October 20 from two of its known Yukon deposits. At Golden Saddle, hole 219 cut 1.47 grams of gold per tonne over 38.08 metres — think a fifth of an ounce in every tonne of rock, over a stretch about as long as a tennis court is wide. Inside that band sat a richer core: 5.13 g/t over 7.88 metres, and an innermost sliver of 10.48 g/t over 2.88 metres. At the VG deposit, hole QV26-026 returned 2.53 g/t over 18.9 metres. A second VG hole, QV26-024, was broad but weak — 0.71 g/t over 38.45 metres. This is the same company that, when we last covered it in August, put out a corporate release with every assay still pending.
Here is the logic. The Golden Saddle hole landed strong grade and width where the model said it would, nudging the high-grade core about 50 metres west inside the existing pit outline — useful infill, not a new discovery. At VG, hole 026 pushes mineralization roughly 90 metres deeper, to about 320 metres down-plunge, and the company says it traces 150 metres of strike and bridges a long-standing 120-metre gap to a 2013 hole. QV26-026’s intercept sits about 146 to 162 metres below surface; QV26-024’s main interval is approximately 300 metres down-plunge. The team now includes Donovan Pollitt, who ran Wesdome Gold Mines for about a decade — the only verified mine-operating credential on the bench; CEO David D’Onofrio comes from finance. Agnico Eagle holds about 18.9%. The multiplying math here is modest but real: a 56 gram-metre hole at Golden Saddle and 48 at VG are the kind of numbers that grow and firm up a known deposit. Yet the stock slid about 0.6% over three months while junior gold miners (GDXJ) rallied 17.3% and gold added 3.1% — a mid-period run to C$2.40 fully reversed.
Now the honest part. The company gives true widths as a blanket estimate — 80 to 95% of core length at Golden Saddle, 90 to 95% at VG — not hole by hole, and states no cut-off grade. The 120-metre gap bridge leans on that 2013 Comstock hole (52 gram-metres), whose verification note still carries an unfilled bracket placeholder. The claim that VG’s resource stretches from 310 to 430 metres down-plunge is explicitly interpretive, pending an updated resource. Meaningful VG grade rests largely on the single hole 026. And only 2 of 9 VG holes and a subset of 12 Golden Saddle holes are in — isolation and consistency aren’t demonstrable yet. What to watch: assays from 49 more holes, due ‘in due course,’ and a resource update folding in the 2025–26 drilling. From August’s promises, drilling at Golden Saddle 2.0 was slated for ‘coming weeks’ and W2 spin-out record and payment dates were pending — neither is addressed in this release, so both stay open.
